Secretary of the Indian Council of Management and Future. ICMF is a Registered Professional Society (1976), designed to inculcate a culture of futuristic thinking and perspective planning in the Indian civil and public society.
With visionaries like(Late) Dr. Satish C. Seth, Founding Director, Mr. I.K.Gujral, ICMF’s first President and Shri. Vasant Sathe, ICMF’s current President, the council has been actively developing tools to include forecasting methodologies within the educational and professional training environments.
Over the last three and a half decades, the council has focused on designing futures, planning ideas in almost every aspect of life, especially those that impact policy planning and national futures. With the spotlight on building Anticipatory Management skills, the council members have been interacting with senior educationalists and professionals across the secondary, higher secondary, university, vocational and professional training arena.
It goes to the credit of ICMF for developing an All India Network of Futurists with the support of the University Grants Commission and the Central Board of Secondary Education. Having participated in developing modular syllabus for IITs and IIMs as well as for CBSE Schools along with experts in various fields, ICMF has the unique forte of organizing more than 350 workshops and training programmes all over India.
With the passing away of the renowned Futurologist and Founder Director, DR.SATISH C.SETH in 2009, ICMF has begun organizing a series of Memorial Futurology lectures on an annual basis. The council endeavours to re-organize the all India network of futurists through these lectures, to regain support from the UGC and CBSE to reintroduce futures studies /futurology as an elective subject in the educational institutes of higher learning and in schools. The two lectures, conducted in 2010 and 2011 focused on the “Future of the Past” by Prof. Yashpal and “The Future of Agriculture” by Prof. M.S. Swaminathan, respectively. Planned as an ongoing annual event, the series is inspiring young minds to think about world futures and encouraging fresh ideas that could develop the social, political and scientific environment of tomorrow.
ICMF’s roadmap from here on clearly defines achieving milestones by shaping minds into thinkers and effective futurologist planning growth in both the private and public space.
